
The Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Authority offers additional recycling services. These additional recycling services are optional and secondary to your municipal waste and recycling program. You MUST be a registered user in order to utilize both recycling sites.

The recycling permit application is currently FREE. One recycling permit per household.

Accepted Paper: office paper, newspaper, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, cereal boxes, soda/beer cartons, soft cover books and paperback books
Accepted Cardboard: flattened corrugated cardboard ONLY (wavy center between two layers)
Accepted Plastics: Plastics #1 and #2 ONLY
Accepted Bimetal, Tin, and Aluminum: cans ONLY
Accepted Glass: all color food and beverage bottles.

PLEASE BE A RESPONSIBLE RECYCLER!
– The Waste Authority’s recycling permit must be displayed on vehicle’s rearview mirror and visible to the onsite attendant at all times while utilizing our recycling sites.
– All recyclable plastics, bimetal/tin/aluminum cans and accepted glass must be rinsed and dry.
– Cardboard boxes must be flattened or broken down.
– NO styrofoam, ceramics, china, porcelain, mirrors, plate glass, dishes, light bulbs, pizza boxes or other garbage will be accepted at the recycling sites.
– Unaccepted items must return to your residence for proper disposal. If you leave anything on the ground, you are illegally dumping. Anyone illegally dumping may be subject to fines and penalties under violation(s) of the Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Ordinance.
– The Waste Authority reserves the right to revoke a recycling permit at any time for any reason without advanced notice.
– For the safety of the public and Waste Authority personnel, the Waste Authority reserves the right to modify rules and regulations as it deems fit without advanced notice.
– Recycling is a market driven commodity industry; acceptable items may change from time to time and without notice. Anyone who refuses to follow directions of the Waste Authority or the onsite attendant may be subject to fines and penalties under violation(s) of the Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Ordinance.
– There is a limited number of vehicles allowed at the recycling sites at the same time. If needed, parking spaces will be assigned by the onsite attendant.
– If you are sick, we urge you to stay home for your safety, the safety of the public and the safety of Waste Authority personnel.
