Accepted Items

Accepted Paper: office paper, newspaper, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, cereal boxes, soda and beer cartons, soft cover books, paperback books
Accepted Cardboard: corrugated only
Accepted Plastics: 1 and 2 only
Accepted Bimetal, Tin, and Aluminum: cans only
Accepted Glass: all color food and beverage bottles.

Rules and Regulations

– No Styrofoam, ceramics, mirrors, plate glass, dishes, light bulbs, or other garbage will be accepted.
– All recyclables must be rinsed.
– Cardboard boxes must be broken down.
– If you leave anything on the ground, you are illegally dumping. Unaccepted items must return to your residence for proper disposal.
– The Waste Authority permit for recycling must be always displayed and visible for the attendant.
– The Waste Authority reserves the right to revoke a permit at any time for any reason.
– For the safety of the public and Authority personnel, the Waste Authority reserves the right to modify rules and regulations as it deems fit without advanced notice.
– If you are sick, we urge you to stay home for your safety and the safety of the public and staff.
– Recycling is a market driven commodity industry. Acceptable items may change from time to time and without notice. Anyone who refuses to follow directions of the Waste Authority or of the onsite attendant may be subject to fines and penalties for violation of the Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Ordinance.
– There is a limited number of vehicles allowed at the sites. Parking spaces will be assigned by the attendant.
